Kira Freed, MA, BCC, LPC—now known as Kirin Alolkoy—is a Board Certified Coach, Certified Purpose Clarity Coach, Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (inactive), and freelance writer who holds master’s degrees in integral counseling psychology and anthropology as well as advanced training in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of psychotherapy. Her human development work blends life and purpose coaching with IFS to explore living true to oneself and shedding familial and cultural expectations around gender and other concerns.
Kirin is also the author of Gender Unburdening: Using Internal Family Systems to Heal from Gender Socialization (published under her new legal name).
In addition, Kirin has written more than three hundred K–6 nonfiction books and countless reading passages for educational publishers. The materials, which are used to teach elementary students to read, explore high-interest topics at graduated levels of complexity.
