Dionne Stephens is a Professor in the Psychology Department at Florida International University in Miami. Her research examines socio-historical factors shaping minority populations' sexual scripting and sexual health processes, with emphasis on gender and ethnic/ racial identity development. The author of over 75 research articles and book chapters, Dr. Stephens has received numerous recognitions for her work including a National Institutes for Health’s Global Health Equity Scholars’ Faculty Fellowship and American Psychological Associations’ (APA) Foremothers' Excellence in Mentorship Award, APA Distinguished Contributions to Teaching & Mentoring in Qualitative Inquiry Award, and APA Mid-Career Award for Multicultural Psychology.
