Mara Huber

Dr. Mara Huber activates the potential of young people to address sustainable development. Through PEARL project challenges and digital badges, she connects students and educators with community-based partners doing the work of sustainable development around the world. As students work to add value through project deliverables, they develop skills and competencies that connect with employers and emerging areas of innovation and economic development. Dr. Huber serves as Senior Director for Instructional Innovation and Transformation at the University at Buffalo and Senior Special Advisor for Experiential Learning to the Governor of Enugu Nigeria. Her new book, Experiential Learning for Sustainable Development: A Foundational Model for Climate Action provides a guide to designing and scaling PEARL project challenges and features stories of partners in Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda who are leveraging experiential learning for transformational impacts.
