Veysel Batmaz

Prof. Dr. M. Veysel Batmaz, SFHEA. Graduated from the Middle East Technical University-Department of Political Science (BA’79) Ankara, Turkey, Prof. Dr. Veysel Batmaz had worked with Prof. Dr. George Gerbner when he was attending the Annenberg School for Communications at the University of Pennsylvania (MA’85) on media cultivation and television effects. He attended twice Dubrovnik Inter-University Center Seminars directed by Jürgen Habermas and Albrecht Wellmer (1982–83). He has then worked as a consultant and campaign manager on various political com-munication projects in Turkey with Dr. Erhan Göksel at VERSO-Social Re-search Center from 1992–2010. He was the Director of Research in Mana-jans/J.W.Thompson Advertising Agency between 1986 and 1989 in Istanbul. Presently, he is a professor of research on political science at the University of İstanbul-Faculty of Communications, continuing political and mar-keting consultancy work and doing social research for multinational compa-nies and political parties at Panajans Ltd.
