Leon Tefft

Leon Tefft is a writer, poet and author of Haiku Evolution and Haiku Traditions.

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Leon’s love of poetry originated with the first haiku he wrote as a teenager, spurring decades of creative writing expressed through poetry and short story fiction. His poetry has appeared in numerous publications including Akitsu Quarterly, The Cherita, The Cicada’s Cry, Cold Moon Journal, Folk Ku Journal, The Heron’s Nest, Heterodox Haiku Journal, Kokako, Ribbons, Scarlet Dragonfly Journal and Tsuri-Dōrō. He is a member of the Haiku Society of America and the Tanka Society of America.

Leon draws inspiration for his creativity from a wide range of unique experiences throughout his life. His resume includes writer, artist, painter, actor, police officer, celebrity bodyguard, trader and business owner. He is an avid reader with noted interests in history, philosophy and photography.

Leon currently resides in South Carolina with his wife, Hollie.
