Hi there! Welcome to the Family!

I’m Dawné (pronounced D-Nay) Phenix (yes, like the bird or city), thank you for visiting my author page. I’m happy to have the honor of being a daydreamer and writer for a living, which means I create characters and adventures every day that I am hoping children, and their parents dig into and find fun.

My two children’s book series are, “The Adventures of the Potato Pups and Z,” and “According to Sharks.” I’m excited to say, “Welcome to the Family!” and “The Purpose of Life Book 1” are now available for your reading pleasure, with several more books coming soon. I have a HUGE passion for connecting with children and their families for story time, and I love raising awareness for issues dear to my heart, like animal rescue and ocean conservation, which are themes in my books.

Some tidbits about me:

I’m a “Coasty!” I spent several years along the coasts of California and Washington state, before moving to Virginia, where I currently reside. I love having the ocean on one side of me and the mountains on the other. My furkids keep me young and active! I have my Graduate Degree in Human Behavior and have spent over twenty years of my career working with every age and every stage of people.

When I’m not daydreaming about content for new stories, I love to hang out and play THICK board games with my family, read books, hike, bike, boogie board in the ocean, and watch movies.
