Robert Winkler Burke was born on November 18, 1953 the son of Ray and Jimmye Burke in New Orleans, LA. Ray Burke was a great oil geologist, an energy-finder extraordinaire. He and his wife were from small towns east of Austin, Texas, eventually moving to Southern California, where Robert and his two brothers were raised. Ray Burke became an executive in Union Oil.
Robert Burke has been a natural-born seeking soul, and could not follow his father’s excellent journey in oil energy. He obtained a B.A. Broadcast Journalism degree from the University of Southern California. After a few small jobs in journalism, he turned to carpentry, home-building and general contracting. He says he did this to clear his mind. Contract estimating led to interest in personal computing. Somewhere in the late 1980s, Burke turned to quests for more information which could take adults from milk to meat in body, soul (mind-emotions) and spirit.
By the early 1990s, Burke began to study evangelical Christianity to explore the differences between existent immaturity and the hope of maturity. He discovered that maturity has its own higher language and surprising outcomes. He describes his work as a magnum opus and a Rosetta Stone .. a sword like no other.
The higher language, for Burke, is poetry where a 50-page treatise-chapter of a book, can be abbreviated into one or two pages. In 2004, Burke began publishing a website called “In That Day Teachings,” which are descriptions of knowledge required to go from milk to meat in Christian spirit. This website explains how to bridge spiritually from asleep or awake to aware.
In the mid-2000s, Burke published videos on this website, an early form of vlogging. However, the videos mainly were done to clarify Burke’s thinking on sublime Christian ascension. Now the website proffers a dozen books of poetry and prose, as research material referenced in his published books for readers who want to dig deeper what Paul called “The Mystery of God.”
Starting in 2006, Burke began to learn Russian Martial Art Systema from Vladimir Vasiliev (Toronto, Canada) and Mikhail Ryabko (Moscow, Russia). This art appears to be ancient of days, what God might have taught to people like Abraham, Moses and King David; or so say the Russian practitioners of this art. They say a thousand years ago, Russians learned it from travelling Hebrew tribes… these tribes supposedly later forgetting such, but the Russians remembered. A different martial art, it is effectively victorious because its goal is to be kind – helping opponents by avoiding damage to them… by doing hand-to-hand operations without anger or fear. In sum, this is congruent with spiritual discoveries of In That Day Teachings.
Burke concluded the last piece in the puzzle of ascension of spirit, body and soul is Western Enlightenment, as practiced by the 250 Founders of the US. They developed a sublimely elevated governance system for human souls, which of course mean mind and emotions. Their governance plan is congruent with the above notions for spirit and body.
In collating this vast, epic landscape of material, Burke concluded that a single book could be published to explain the magnum opus material from the website. This book was published by Austin Macauley and it is called “Think! Like an Advanced Christian.”
Whether of the spirit, soul or body… the pedagogy of “meat” teaching is different. “Milk” teachings in these three areas (spirit, soul, body) are usually rote, perhaps three points and endlessly repeated as if new to old ears. However, “meat” teachings are quite different… a little here, a little there, here a meme, there a truth, this teaching, that story. See Isaiah 28 for mention of this fascinating dynamic.
Next, Burke turned to fiction combining humor, space-adventure and religion. His next book published by Austin Macauley is the masterpiece breakthrough novel, “Where Do We Go Now, LORD?” It’s a fast-paced story of an everyman who ascends from milk to meat in a comedic fashion. Thus begins the Peculiar Book Series of Divine Comedies and Tales of the Christ called “The Starmaster Chronicles.” To mentally un-enslave humans is its ascendent goal.
The next novel is to be called, “LORD, Is Everything Nothing?” All of Burke’s writings strangely refer to earlier, deeper works, from latest novel to early poems published on his website. Others have called Burke’s work as if a video of an exploding planet is played backwards, where chaos comes into divine, love-energy order. A saying of Burke is “Above all a good heaven, beneath all a good foundation, in all a good God.” For these reasons, Burke’s writing over time gains popularity and appreciation for old-fashioned “tooth-sucking wisdom.”
Burke’s logo includes his full name, a Roman two-edge sword and the phrase A Sword Like No Other. His writings include a breakthrough understanding of the Book of Job, as well as potential opportunities for upgrades to Evangelical Christianity (seminary and church,) much as Martin Luther had done earlier with troubles which had crept into Catholicism.
Once a stranger asked Burke what he was famous for. Robert Burke hopes he will be known for writings which are humorous, adventurous and ameliorating. He says Christian faith and knowledge beyond milk church operations will indeed create energetic, happy and body-soul-spirit conditions. This then, he says, enables perchance the New Testament’s (little heretofore achieved due to lack of knowledge but nevertheless) much promised… amazing power, love and sound mindedness in persons with the (behold) indwelling of “Christ-in-You.”
