Jannine Koert is the founder of Stories Against Stigma.
With over 15 years of experience in international development, Jannine’s passion for social change through education has allowed her to work within isolated, rural and remote communities. As a teen she founded an income generating program to transform the lives of young women who lived in fear of becoming child brides, and has gone on to work with people experiencing violence, homelessness, significant mental health challenges and poverty.
Her passion for education and community empowerment has led to deep connections with those who live lives that are deeply affected by what others think of them. While this is a reality often shared, it can feel like a dark, lonely path and with Stories Against Stigma, Jannine’s goal is to offer a steady glowing light.
“Compassion becomes real when we realize our shared humanity.” -Pema Chodron.
