James Aukett

James Aukett was born in London and continues to live in the south of England to this present day. He enjoyed reading all kinds of literature whilst growing up, but in particular gamebooks and other interactive fiction.

His favourite gamebook series of all time is Fighting Fantasy, where he has been both a videographer and volunteer at the fests that have taken place in London since 2014. In addition, he's also helped to organise the "You Are The Beer-o" pub quiz events that occur the night before a Fighting Fantasy Fest.

As well as Fighting Fantasy, he is also a massive fan of the TV programme Knightmare which ran from 1987 to 1994. In 2012 he made a YouTube documentary to commemorate the show's 25th anniversary.

James is the author of Q-Portal Gamebooks. He released his debut gamebook Quadportal in the summer of 2024 and the first of his Quick Portal Gamebooks, "The Castle Of Condemnation" was released in 2026.
