Kathy Banak

Kathy's passion for design began in childhood, where she spent hours exploring color palettes and fabrics along with her creative mother Mary. She would spend countless hours creating seasonal decorative arrangements or planning their next home re-decorating project. Her mother's creativity couple with her father Ron's landscape design skills; Kathy was attracted to all things beautiful.

After college and a successful career in the high tech industry, Kathy transitioned to interior design, where she found her true calling. Since founding Authentic Home in 2003 in Seattle, WA, Kathy has helped countless clients transform their living spaces, creating homes that are both beautiful and deeply personal. With a focus on color and personalization, Authentic Home transforms houses into homes that are authentic, inspiring, and meaningful. Kathy has lovingly transformed hundreds of homes over two decades in both the Pacific Northwest and New England states. She currently resides in Coeur d' Alene Idaho with her husband Rick.
