Angelo Orlando

Screenwriter, director, actor, playwright. He made his debut as a film director in 1994 with

"L'anno prossimo vado a letto alle dieci" (Next year I go to bed at ten o'clock), Film inspired by some comics by Andrea Pazienza. In 1999 he wrote the screenplay for Gianfranco Mingozzi's "Tobia al caffè" and wrote with Enzo Monteleone "Ormai è fatta", a nomination for the Nastro D'Argento and Globo d'oro, Foreign Press Award. Solinas Award 2005 with the screenplay "Casamatta Vendesi". He wrote and directed his second film "Barbara" in 1998. As an actor, he has worked with Federico Fellini (he is Nestore, in his latest 昀lm: "La voce della luna"), with Nanni Loy, Maurizio Nichetti, Mario Monicelli, Enzo Decaro and other directors including Massimo Troisi (he received the David di Donatello award for best supporting actor for "Pensavo fosse amore...invece era un calesse"). Author of many plays performed. In addition to 'Barbara', 'Mexico & Clouds', 'Café', 'Casamatta Vendesi', 'Parlez-moi d'amour', 'El circo invisible', 'Quasi un diario'.

For Edizioni Piemme, he published the poetry collection 'For love you must have passion'. His third feature film is "Sfiorarsi". Finalist in 2010 at the Premio Solinas with the screenplay "Cinq, sei sett, ott...", written with Valentina Russo. His fourth feature film, "Rocco tiene tu nombre", is shot entirely in Barcelona, produced by his production company, Gris Medio, born from the partnership with Greek photographer and director of photography Efthymia Zymvragaki. Other significant productions: 'School Life' (2016), nominated as best documentary at the European Film Awards 2017, co-production Ireland/Spain. "Follow Me" (2016) co-production Italy/Spain.
