Asherah Weiss

Asherah Weiss is a community artist and educator based in Northern California. She holds her California teaching credential for art, and has taught full-time and as a visiting artist at k-12 schools since 2018. Before and since she has worked as a mentor and facilitator with folks from a diverse range of abilities and ages. Her work encourages everyone to be creative through visual arts and improvisational play.

Asherah has been the co-creator of many collective projects. She founded and ran womb space collaborative arts, a living room for creative community engagement. She also co-created Open Envelope, which set up public spaces for people to hand-craft notes of love and send them in the mail. Her team received a grant to create a project called “Love Letters to Santa Rosa,” a transdisciplinary response to the 2017 Tubbs Fire.

Currently, Asherah is the Programs Director at Artstart, an educational arts non-profit that mentors youth while creating public art installations.
