Philip T Stevens

Philip T. Stevens is a retired Naval Architect Technician who hails from a small town in the western mountains of Maine. His journey to education and a fulfilling life hasn’t always been easy. With the strong support of his mother, Philip graduated from high school after facing some challenges. He then joined the Marine Corps and experienced the realities of the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he found himself back in a familiar routine until he met a wonderful wife who encouraged him to pursue technical college. This decision opened up new friendships and opportunities, allowing the Stevens family to build a brighter future.

For 30 years, Philip worked as a Naval Architect Technician at Naval Base Portsmouth in New Hampshire and in the U.S. Coast Guard’s Naval Engineering Technical Branch. While earning his master’s degree, he also dedicated 17 years to volunteering in a military reserve program. From 2010 to 2014, he shared his knowledge and experience by teaching college courses at North Georgia Technical College. Philip hopes that by sharing his experiences, he can inspire future family members to appreciate and preserve their own family stories.
