Dr Angela Puca is a leading scholar in the fields of magic, witchcraft, and the occult. With a PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Leeds and a teaching position at Leeds Trinity University since 2016, she has spent over a decade researching traditions that have fascinated humanity for centuries: from Italian folk magic and shamanism to modern Paganism and esoteric spirituality. Her academic training began with degrees in philosophy from the University of Naples, and she has since lectured and conducted research at several universities worldwide.
Angela is also the creator of Angela's Symposium, a popular educational platform with hundreds of thousands of followers across YouTube, TikTok, and other social media, where she shares the latest academic research on magic and the occult in an engaging, accessible way. Her work has helped thousands of people understand these often-misrepresented traditions through the lens of serious scholarship rather than sensationalism.
She is the author of Italian Witchcraft and Shamanism, published by Brill, and co-editor of Pagan Religions in Five Minutes (Equinox). She regularly consults on projects that require expertise in magical traditions and their cultural contexts and teaches online courses on her website.
