B. V. Caal

Born in Guatemala (1981) and raised in the states since the age of ten, Spanish and English have become my two primary languages. Reading and writing have been part of my life since the beginning. I am also a proud product of Chicago Public Schools. Earned a B.A. in English Lit from UIC (2008) and have been the editor of a local newsletter for the past decade. Several of my poems have appeared in a variety of journals. I am now, for the first time, publishing a collection of bilingual short stories taking place in an urban environment. My next near-future goal is to work and bring to light a fiction novel.
