David Sánchez

David Sánchez Colón, also known as DavoMusic, is a Puerto Rican author whose literary work blends the cultural roots of Borikén, Christian theology, and the raw depths of human emotion. His storytelling rises from the heart of the barrio, shaped by pastoral experience, poetic justice, and a longing for redemption.

A Baptist pastor, music producer, and Master of Divinity student at the Evangelical Seminary of Puerto Rico, David has turned words into tools for healing and resistance. As lead pastor of the Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Carolina, Puerto Rico, he has walked alongside others through celebration and sorrow, doubt and hope. His pastoral calling deeply informs his writing, giving voice to the silenced and shining light in dark corners of society.

He is the author of Protocolo 42, a dystopian novel exposing pharmaceutical corruption while affirming human dignity in the face of institutional collapse. Its spiritual and poetic sequel, La Maldición de Mara (The Curse of Mara), explores feminine redemption amid the wreckage of labor exploitation and natural disaster. Its upcoming continuation, La Colusión de Mara (The Collusion of Mara), reveals the sinister web of a corporate empire manipulating lives like pawns.

His literary universe also includes El país de los locos (The Land of the Mad), a sharp social critique wrapped in prophetic vision; Rosas para Lola (Roses for Lola), a lyrical gem about love blooming in forgotten neighborhoods; El Código de Mateo (The Code of Mateo), where a symbolic stone links generations; and La Legendaria Piedra Azul (The Legendary Blue Stone), a deeply personal tale merging Taíno mythology with emotional memory and childhood.

His latest book, Designios del Arquitecto del Universo (Designs of the Architect of the Universe), is a heartfelt journey that fuses autobiography, spiritual reflection, and testimony, offering readers a sacred window into the soul of a man shaped by pain, hope, and faith.

All of David’s books are part of an interconnected universe—where characters cross paths and symbols reappear—united by a single conviction: storytelling can heal, awaken, confront, and guide. His writing exists to give voice to the forgotten, to ensure that no child like Siso or young woman like Mara is erased from memory.

In addition to his literary work, David is also an accomplished music producer under the name DavoMusic, creating songs in genres such as rap, reggaetón, worship, and salsa. His music, like his stories, carries cultural weight and spiritual depth.

Among his deepest sources of inspiration was Always, his beloved black cat who kept him company through long writing nights. Always’s passing left a mark on David’s soul and now lives on in his most heartfelt pages, where life, death, and eternity intertwine.

David writes because he cannot stay silent. He writes because even amid the storm, there is beauty—and because, as he says, “Ugliness may be forever, but beauty, though fleeting, has the power to awaken the eternal.”
