Randal Murphey

Dear Reader,

I say reader because unless you are entirely imaginary, you are, in fact, reading this very letter.

Randal Murphey is a dear friend of mine who has honored me with the privilege of introducing him to you. He's a delightful storyteller known for his engaging narratives and rich imagination. Or so he tells me. He mentioned other pointedly vain things about himself that he wished me to convey to you, but I believe he was joking about them. I'm leaving them out but adding this to the letter to humble him.

Growing up in California's high desert in Victorville, he developed a love for historical fiction and fantasy, which led him to pursue an English degree from CBU. The desert is beautiful in its own way, but he had a lot of time on his hands, which he spent reading and playing video games with storylines that tantalized his imagination. His writing journey began with a children's book about a hummingbird and has expanded into an upcoming young adult fantasy series set in the enchanting world of Lankohl. I know because I told him the story. But he gets the credit for writing the very real history of Laknohl on Earth.

In addition to novels, Randal creates captivating children's picture books aimed at sparking imagination and a love for reading in young minds. His stories often reflect his Christian faith, infusing themes of love and redemption. What excellent themes they are as well. The very backbone of transformation, if you ask me.

Randal also hosts a podcast where he shares insights into his reading habits, reviews books by fellow authors, and discusses various literary topics. Readers can stay updated on his latest works and exclusive content by visiting his website and following his Substack.

Living in Riverside with his family, Randal is a devoted husband and father, balancing his writing career with his family life and faith while also obtaining a PhD and maintaining a full-time job. He's a bustling sort of fellow, but he likes it that way. Rather curious, don't you think?

You can find out more about Randal on his website. He would put links, but that is not allowed on this platform. You must perform a Google search or type in his name, no spaces, and add a complementary dot (period), followed by "com." He would like to remind you that his first name is spelled with a singular "L" (capitalized for emphasis), and his last name contains the unusual "E," also capitalized for emphasis. He personally thinks both look better that way and hopes you keep your opinions to yourself unless, of course, you are inclined to agree.

Good luck. And enjoy his writing! If you're into that sort of thing. Wonderfully captivating stories, that is – at least, in my opinion, as a humble scribbler.

Sincerely,

Larkspur Meadowquill
