I was Runner-Up in the Self-Published category in the Comedy Women in Print awards in 2025 for The Stand-Up Mam. I did stand-up comedy for two years after a brain injury and my novel was inspired by my experience. Doing comedy was empowering and inspiring as well as terrifying! I live in North East England and am married with two grown-up children. I love uplifting and funny fiction and the occasional scary film, which usually has me waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat.
Book blogger review @bunnyspause said This book is a riot. Absolutely hilarious but with a dash of tenderness and warmth.
