Timothy Warren Taylor

Timothy Warren Taylor has burst onto the poetry scene, captivating audiences worldwide with his electrifying verse. Hailing from Gary, Indiana, Timothy's work resonates deeply across borders, with devoted followings in Jamaica and the Philippines.

Though his roots are in the United Steelworkers, where he honed his skills in welding, pipe fitting, rigging, and coil extractions, poetry reveals his soul. Timothy's technical background contrasts starkly with his poetic voice, a voice that explores the intricacies of the human condition and elevates the mundane to the extraordinary. As a poet, he shares glimpses of his inner world, offering a profound connection that transcends his trade.

Timothy is not defined by his occupation but by his art—crafting poems that strike at the heart of life's complexities and triumphs. He invites readers to see beyond the surface, to discover the man behind the words, and to be inspired by the journey from steel to stanza.

The Prey

Are you man enough

to love her at her very worst?

Remain steadfast

and as faithful as an old blood oath?

Lose your ego

whenever you put your wallet in her purse

and remember that a lady

should always c-m first?

Are you man enough

to show her loyalty

like you just married into the mob?

Give her the same attention

in the light as you do in the dark?

Remember what you put on her mind

will always remain in her heart

and understand she’s more than a woman

she’s a gift from your God?

Are you man enough

to show her boldness

with no fear of her rejections?

Remember the truth

was made to shame all deceptions?

Understand she craves charisma

from someone who’ll shower her with affection?

And spend every waking moment in the struggle,

striving towards her perfection?

Are you man enough

to think outside the box

until she gets the point of your explanation!

Undress her with a raw sex appeal

that’s only found in your conversation?

Remember rose pedals and butterflies

were made to stimulate her imagination?

But the character of your inner man

was meant to pique all her dark temptations?

Are you man enough

to use metaphors to describe the lining

of her pretty little symmetry?

Understand patience is a virtue

so give her time like infinity?

Show her how you’ve been making room

in your very soul for her entity

And tell her you need her in your life

to be the divine in your divinity?

Are you man enough

to understand there will be no guarantees

when you pursue this woman?

All the eyes of the world are waiting on God

to give them something.

Give due diligence fight the good fight anyway

even if it leaves you with nothing.

Sacrifice yourself and, if nothing else,

become the prey she’ll always be hunting.
