Tanmayishri Sumanth

Hello!

I am Tanmayishri Sumanth, and I love to read, write, draw and sing! When I am not reading, drawing or singing, I enact puppet shows with my toys, dolls and my handcrafted puppets, to entertain myself.

I have recently published my first fictional book ‘A Treasure Trove of Tales’, which has 19 stories and 4 poems written in a narrative and descriptive style that both entertains and engages the reader. I have also illustrated them!

The book - although written by me - (a kid!)- is for both children and adults, who want to connect to the child within! The stories and poetry have some humour, magic and lots of adventure.

I have created the characters with my imagination. As a fiction writer, my greatest ideas come from my head. And I think those ideas come from my life experiences and from the many books I read.

When I read other authors, my head is full of ideas about what else could the character have done in the plot... Those ideas I get while reading are the ones that I use to shape my characters as I bring them to life! I love writing. So I don’t find any aspect of writing difficult.

I feel that every good book needs a bit of humour, adventure, sorrow etc. The challenges and emotions of the character should show in the writing.

I usually just type in what comes to my mind. Then I double-check it to see if my readers would enjoy it. Sometimes in the middle of a story I interact with the readers. I guess the readers are always there with me while I write! And I do hope I’m delivering them what they want.

I have written one book so far and I surely enjoyed writing it! I bet you'd enjoy reading it too!
