Laura Sampson

Laura Sampson is a British-Caribbean storyteller and writer based in London. She is the author of two childrens’ story collections, Enchanted Tales and Mythical Tales, a pop-up Sleeping Beauty (Templar Books) and co-author of forthcoming adult collection Moon, Snow, Blossom (Elliott & Thompson). She has degrees in English (BA, UCL) and Japanese Studies (MA, SOAS).

For children and families, Laura has worked with heritage venues including the V&A and National Trust, with theatre companies including Polka Theatre, Rebel Tales and Pākiki Theatre, and in schools with Discover Story Centre, A New Direction, and ISTA Global.

Laura has practised noh (a 700-year-old Japanese theatre form) since 2011 and performs with Theatre Nohgaku in the UK and abroad. Her unique storytelling style incorporates elements of noh, with work commissioned and/or produced by the Noh Reimagined Festival (Kings Place, London), Teatro Sagapo, and leading UK storytelling organisation the Crick Crack Club.
