Mary Heritage

Mary Heritage is a speech and language therapist, coach, and writer with over 40 years’ experience in healthcare, education, and leadership. She has worked across clinical, academic, and strategic roles, including as Chair of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and as Programme Lead for the MSc SLT at the University of Lincoln. Her writing explores mentoring, professional identity, and career transitions, drawing on her deep commitment to person-centred care and workforce sustainability. Now working freelance, Mary supports others through coaching and mentoring, helping them navigate change and rediscover purpose. She lives in Lincoln, UK, where she balances writing with walking, kayaking, and tending her garden.
