I am now retired, and apart from my writing, I am a member and past captain of our local golf club, Wells GC. My other interests are in art, and I have been painting with an art group for some years.
In the years 1978-2001 I founded and ran GRSpinks & Co. Ltd, which processed fruits for the dairy industry, and later in that period I sold the business, and moved to America, where I was the Vice President of a company producing ingredients for the Dairy and ice cream companies. All of these activities took me to many countries, including Russia, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
Before I retired in 2021, I was a Consultant to the Dairy Industry, travelling around the world advising companies on factory procedures, training technical staff, and later advising on business strategies. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Food Science and Technology in the United Kingdom.
After writing and having published the book '2084' I am currently writing a second novel based on some of the events that a family experienced in the years 1938-1948.
