Monroe is an award-winning children’s book author who has shared her gentle, whimsical tales for over a decade. A lifelong advocate for literacy, she spent years promoting reading and education through her work on the school board and in rural schools. As a library trustee, she helped guide summer reading adventures and encouraged children to write their own stories, planting seeds of imagination wherever she went.
Her series of Miss Lolisa’s Tales & Tails combines her deep faith and love for children and animals in delightful, timeless stories. Each tale entertains while softly encouraging acceptance and inclusion in the most curious places. With themes of kindness, sharing, friendship, and self-worth, Monroe’s animal friends offer little lessons wrapped in wonder.
Monroe’s stories have traveled to homes, hospitals, classrooms, and churches around the world. There’s always a bag of stories in Monroe’s car, ready to be gifted to families she meets along the way. Like seashells found on a sandy shore, each tale carries a whisper of joy, waiting to be heard.
A lifelong Mainer, now based in Florida, Monroe shares her life with her husband, Scott. When she’s not writing, she enjoys exploring her creativity behind the camera lens or in the kitchen. Monroe’s dream is to put little books into little hands, ensuring every child can find joy, hope, and a sense of belonging in her stories.
