Margie Steinberg

Margie Steinberg is an educator with 45 years of experience. She taught in Tama, Iowa and Mason City, Iowa. Most of her classroom experience was with 7th graders teaching language arts and reading. A unique experience was teaching in Tama where the Mesquaki Indians reside. That cultural experience helped to shape a unique perspective for her. After receiving her Masters Degree from Drake University, she taught for Buena Vista University, Drake University and Morningside College. This gave her great pleasure as she was working with students that wanted to be teachers and teachers already in the profession working on continuing education. In retirement, she enjoys reading, making baskets, wood burning and a variety of other crafts. Growing up on a farm in a very Norwegian community gave her a strong work ethic. This transferred into her passion for teaching. She is married to Gene, has a son, daughter, and stepson and seven grandchildren.
