Sarah Symonds

Sarah Symonds grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe, and now calls Cape Town, South Africa home — where she lives with her husband Jonathan and their three children, Luke, Jake, and Aneni.

With a background in makeup artistry and a deep love for art and gardening, Sarah has always been someone who creates. After having children, she found a new and fulfilling purpose in homeschooling, pouring her creativity and passions into her family life.

As someone who is dyslexic, Sarah never imagined she would become an author. Reading has always been a joy she had to fight for — so writing a novel felt entirely out of reach. Binding Light proved otherwise. What began as an unexpected creative outlet became something deeply personal: a process that has been both freeing and profoundly self-revealing.

Sarah plans to continue writing and hopes her story encourages others who have ever felt that their challenges define what they are capable of.
