April S. Scott

April is a mother of two, a daughter and a son eleven years apart, whose life has been shaped by both profound heartbreak and unwavering faith. Her journey has been anything but linear. Marked by seasons of incredible joy followed by deep valleys of pain, she spent much of her life feeling as though she was bracing for the next storm, always waiting for the other shoe to drop.

From a young age, April experienced the emotional highs and lows that would come to define her story. After a tumultuous twelve year marriage that ended in divorce in 2021, she entered another season of rebuilding and uncertainty. In December of 2023, she experienced a heartbreak that left her feeling completely shattered.

On February 11, 2024, in a moment she believes was fully orchestrated by God, April was baptized. What followed was not an instant transformation, but a deep and often painful journey of surrender. Learning to trust, wait, and be obedient to God brought a different kind of refining. One marked by loneliness, breaking, and growth.

Later in 2024, what felt like a second chance brought hope again, only to be followed by another painful ending in April of 2025. What unfolded through the remainder of that year became a season of letting go, healing, and ultimately a final goodbye that broke her in a way that led to deeper healing through trauma therapy. It was in that breaking that true healing began.

Through it all, April began to understand that her pain was not without purpose. God was writing her testimony. Every mountain and every valley, every person placed in her life, carried meaning. Some were sent to grow her, others to guide her, and some to teach her how to let go.

In the aftermath of that heartbreak, in the spring of 2024, during a season of deep healing, April began creating journals as a way to process her own pain. What started as a personal outlet quickly became something more. As she wrote, reflected, and worked through her own journey, she felt a calling to share those same tools with other women who feel stuck, broken, or unsure of their next step.

That same desire to create and connect had already begun to take shape in her business, Sunshine Creations Co. What started with making wreaths and hosting small craft and vendor shows quickly grew into something much bigger. Today, April uses creativity as a way to bring people together, creating spaces filled with joy, connection, and healing.

Through her writing, guided journals, and children’s books, she now continues that mission in new ways. Her journals are designed to walk alongside women in their own journeys, while her children’s books plant seeds of light, love, and identity in the hearts of the next generation.

April continues to walk through her own healing journey, actively engaging in deeper trauma therapy and personal growth. She believes healing is not a destination, but an ongoing process of surrender, reflection, and faith. It is through this continued work that she is able to show up authentically and support others in their own journeys.

April believes that God does not make mistakes, and that every life, no matter how messy or painful, can be redeemed for a greater purpose. Her mission is to remind women and families that they are not alone in their struggles, and that even in their hardest seasons, God is still working.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
