Andrea Herrera is founder and president of Amazing Edibles Catering, an award winning catering company that fosters relationship building at bread breaking events. She is proud of the amazing team assembled who live by our core values of Hard Working, Problem Solving, Thoughtful, and Team. Her personal mission is to Foster Connection to Create Community. She has served over a million meals in Chicago in the past 30 years. In April of 2020 due to the Pandemic Andrea realized a quick pivot was necessary as her legacy catering company would likely need to hibernate till events started happening again. So she thought about her talents, values and her resources and sought to find an answer to a problem in the world, thus was born Boxperience. Boxperience solves the challenge of connecting with top clients in a world where lunches and dinners are no longer the go to connection event. With Boxperience we deliver an amazing invitation to a shared experience over food and drink in a customized gift box. Andrea is a proud global leader, the past Champion for Women of EO in The Entrepreneurs Organization, a global organization of 20,000 members currently serving on the global leadership committee, past positions include president of Chicago chapter of EO, Chair of the Accelerator program to mentor emerging entrepreneurs, and chair of a global conference on entrepreneurial leadership in 2016.Andrea's writing was first featured in Turning Risk into Reward, where she shared the biggest Entreprenurial risk she had ever taken released in 2010. Andrea was just selected as one of the top 100 Titans of Industry for Chicago in 2024. She is the proud mother of Jake Hoover, her greatest achievement. She has also served on the boards of Cornell College, Global Citizenship Experience HS, A Children’s Place, and as past chair of the board of Rivendell Theatre Ensemble – a theatre dedicated to advancing the lives of women through theatre. Andrea has been profiled in Hispanic Living magazine, CNN Money, MSNBC, Chicago Tribune, Today’s Chicago Woman and in the book From Risk to Reward profiling her entrepreneurial journey. Last year she hit 5 continents and looks forward to completing all 7. One favorite client, Oprah Winfrey, loved our grilled veggies! Amazing Edibles supports numerous local charities and not for profits that focus on and support women and children with in-kind donations totaling 5% of annual revenue.
