J.D. Turnbull

Moving back and forth between the United States and Canada, having pursued a corporate career, and finally assuming the role of primary caregiver for both parents put a hold on Turnbull’s passion to write a novel. The idea for Abandon Fear developed over time and, finally, during COVID-19 quarantine, the story began to unfold.

The author’s mother suffered from dementia and remained under the care of Turnbull for ten years before her death in 2021. The writer would put words to a murder scene and across from the author sat her ninety-six-year-old mother smiling sweetly. Mom unknowingly fueled her daughter’s determination.

Turnbull lives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Much of her adulthood she resided in the Great Lakes region of Ontario, Canada (the setting for Abandon Fear).

Although not currently an active tennis player, Turnbull is glued to the television during major tennis tournaments. She vows to attend at least one Grand Slam event in her lifetime. In the meantime, gourmet cooking and extreme landscaping occupy her spare time. The outdoor results provide a beautiful environment for the writer to put words to her vivid imagination.

J.D. Turnbull’s next book is also set in Ontario where she found a great place to hide the bodies.
