Steven Chatterton

Steven Chatterton is an author and award-winning filmmaker, with a strong appetite for worldbuilding and storytelling from a child’s perspective. Originally from the Black Country (the place that inspired Tolkien’s Mordor), he now lives in London, where he is excited about getting a rescue dog.

A committed advocate of social mobility, he is a long-term mentor with children’s charities, encouraging creativity and growth in young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, similar to the one he grew up in. He recently set-up a non-profit organisation to run writing and acting workshops with working-class children.

His screenplays have been selected for development programmes across Europe, and ranked high on US competition shortlists. Prior to that he doubled for many Hollywood actors on feature films (Batman, Hugo, etc), which was his directing school.

He is currently working on his debut middle-grade novel.
