April Samuels

April Samuels is a dynamic figure deeply immersed in the music industry, boasting a multifaceted career that spans drumming, band management, and fundraising. In 2010, April faced a significant challenge when diagnosed with high-grade, triple-negative breast cancer. Undeterred, she coined the motto “Breast Cancer Can Stick It!” and, after a double mastectomy and chemotherapy, triumphantly declared herself “CURED!” A few short years later, in 2013, she founded the official 501c3 nonprofit, Breast Cancer Can Stick It! Foundation, Inc. to fund the fight against breast cancer. Her personal journey fuels her commitment to assisting others diagnosed with breast cancer through advocacy for awareness, early detection, and funding.

April’s musical journey began at a young age, leading to endorse-ments from renowned brands and collaborations with various artists. Beyond drumming, she actively engaged in the business side of the music industry, running a successful booking agency and supporting regional talent. Prior to her diagnosis, as a philanthropist, April organized various impactful, music-based fundraising events to support the homeless as well as to support victims of domestic violence.

Today, April remains a prominent figure in the music scene, playing with Metal Shop, The Breast Cancer Can Stick It! Band, Rebel Yell—The Tribute to Billy Idol, touring as the drummer for Just Like Pink—The Pink Experience, and contributing to original band 49th Vibration. Her inspiring story permeates her performances, collaborations with celebrities, and speaking engagements, show-casing her passion for both drumming and her advocacy against breast cancer. Through her continued dedication, April Samuels rocks not only behind the drums but also in her relentless pursuit of supporting others and finding a cure for breast cancer.
