Jack Urban writes about how the faith he finds in little things, fuels his courage to face the big things.
His works span a wide range of genres from the exciting new magical realism novel The Quest of the Talking Stone; to the whimsical illustrated children’s book, Brill: The Tale of a Reluctant Donkey; contemplative prayer art devotionals, Small Talks with God, 40 Days with Jesus, Through a Glass Dimly and Everyday Grace; and the adventurous memoir Backward down the Mountain. His poetry, songs, and short stories have found various homes, in music releases, art festivals, galleries, and online.
As a writer, worship leader, and lay leader Urban makes a difference where needed. His teachings, shared through workshops like Karitos Worship and Arts Conference and Sharpen Your Sword, have inspired creative audiences. He earned his MA from Wheaton College in 2019, and when he's not engaged in ministry or creative pursuits, he works as a traveling fix-it man. Urban lives near Chicago with six gardens and a faithful wife who tolerates the fact that he spends hours each day talking to people he made up.
