Lori Bessette

Lori Bessette and her son Lucas Pennacchia are authors of the series, "Tales From the Pencil Box". They currently have 2 stories, 3 books, in their series. The titles are, "The Pencil's Point", "Los Puntas de los Lapices", and "The Eager Eraser". The Eager Eraser will be coming soon in Spanish, too!

Lori and Lucas were both born and raised in Rhode Island. Lori is a married mother of 2 amazing children and has been an elementary school educator for the past 16 years. She has taught grades pre-k - 2nd grade and is currently a MLL 1st grade teacher. Lucas attends the University of Rhode Island and is majoring in Elementary Education with a focus on Physical Education and Health.

Over the years of being an educator Lori has observed, learned, grown, adjusted, modified.....and anything else required to meet her students where they are and not where they are expected to be. With that, she discovered a repeated pattern of needs which included responsibility, respect for self and others, and proper management of classroom materials. This was the inspiration behind this series, which takes on managing materials, emotions, and decision making in a fun, silly, and playful way, using rhyme and colorful illustrations to further capture attention and internet.
