Keith Stewart Thomson

Keith Stewart Thomson was Executive Officer of the American Philosophical Society from 2012 –

2017. He is an emeritus professor of natural history at the University of Oxford, former director of

the Oxford Museum of Natural History, the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, and the

Peabody Museum at Yale University where he was also a professor and Dean for many years. He is

the author of many books and essays on history, history of science, evolution and paleontology. He

currently lives in Gwynned, Pennsylvania with his wife Linda, and their dog Hazel and enjoys visits

from his children and grandchildren. His most current book is a work of fiction called, Murder in

Cottisthorpe.
