Darryl Johnson earned his B.S. and M.S. in English Education from Northwest Missouri State University, achieved National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification, received Northwest Missouri State University’s Young Alumni Award and the Missouri National Education Association Horace Mann Award. He has written numerous articles for regional and national journals and has given keynotes to local, regional, and national audiences. In 2007, he was named Missouri Teacher of the Year and in 2013 inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame. Darryl retired from North Kansas City School District in 2021 and serves as a consultant to many school districts and professional organizations. Originally from Port Washington, Wisconsin and St. Charles, Illinois Darryl currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri.
