I am a co-author with my friend and mentor, Warren Aney of the book "Oregon Military History". I have now written my own books which include a book of 15 of my best World War II veteran oral history interviews, titled "When Duty Called: Oral Histories of Oregon's World War II Veterans", a book of my great uncle's, grandfather's and grandmother's letters during World War II called "Letters from the Grave", neither my grandfather and great uncle returned from the war and my newest book based on my master's degree thesis titled "I Will Not Sacrifice Needlessly the Lives of my Riflemen: Australian and American Leadership During World War II." My master’s degree is in Military History with a focus on World War II. My thesis was on Australian/American Relations during World War II, and I presented a portion of that thesis at the Society of Military Historians. I have completed a very well received documentary on the 41st Infantry Division during World War II (Jungleers in Battle) and gathered over 50 oral history interviews of World War II, Korea and Vietnam veterans. Veterans love to talk to veterans, and I am a veteran of Desert Storm. I was the command historian for the Oregon National Guard, the acting command historian for I Corps and director of the U.S. Army Transportation Museum. I have written several magazine articles and completed some additional short history films.
