Samuel K. Elolia

Samuel K. Elolia is a distinguished African author and professor at Milligan University. As an indigenous Kenyan theological professor, he aims to dispel the assumption that Western theology is normative and universal while other theologies are local, parochial, and limited. His research and teaching expands upon the theological curriculum norms and pedagogy, thus highlighting the socio-economic, cultural, and political forces behind the missionary colonization project across African, Asian, and Latin American communities. Dr. Elolia is also a member of African Association for the study of Religion (AASR) and has served as the co-Chair of African Religions Unit and at the American Academy of Religion. He has published two books including Religion, Conflict, and Democracy in Modern Africa and Marakwet: An Ethnographic Study of Religious and Cultural Identity in Africa. He resides in Tennessee.
