William T. Gormley Jr.

Bill Gormley is a mystery writer, amateur jazz pianist, and retired educator. For 33 years, he was a Professor of Public Policy and Government at Georgetown University, where he wrote and taught about public policy, federalism, bureaucratic politics, and early childhood education. His team's research on Tulsa's Universal Pre-K Program was cited by President Obama in his 2013 State of the Union Address.

Gormley's non-fiction articles have appeared in the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, the Public Administration Review, Developmental Psychology, Science magazine, and elsewhere. His non-fiction books have been published by the Brookings Institution Press, the Princeton University Press, the Harvard University Press, and others.

His first murder mystery, Too Many Bridges, a police procedural set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was published by Level Best Books on July 30, 2024. Gormley's podcast, Profs on Cops, is available on Apple and Spotify.
