Jon Thurlow

Jon Thurlow is a writer, poet, and physiotherapist with and interest in the field of Pain Management. Having also worked in pastoral ministry he has a deep interest in the intersection of spirituality, healing, and everyday life. Drawing on contemplative practice, liberation theology, and the earthy beauty of the natural world, his writing invites readers to slow down, reflect, and discover the sacred in the ordinary.

Jon is the author of Pilgrim Prayers for the Journey Home: A Devotional Journey in the Psalms of Ascent, Pilgrim Prayers for Everyday, Liberating Lament, and Ancient Words, Living Prayer (a contemporary Psalter for Daily Prayer) - four devotional books that explore the Psalms, scripture and prayer, through the lens of pilgrimage, community, and God’s wide, welcoming love.

His three poetry collections—Hymns from the Hermitage, Snow Melt and Silence, and Resurrection and Return—trace themes of nature, longing, loss, and renewal. These poems are shaped by seasons, sacred time, and a hope that sings even in silence.

When not writing or working in healthcare, Jon finds restoration in walking, photography, watching birds, and listening for the deeper stories beneath the surface of things.
