Joyce P. Jacobsen

Joyce P. Jacobsen is Professor of Economics at Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Andrews Professor of Economics, Emerita, at Wesleyan University. She has served in academic administration, as President of Hobart and William Smith, and as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Wesleyan. She is the author or coauthor of several books, including All The Campus Lawyers: Litigation, Regulation, and the New Era of Higher Education (2024), Advanced Introduction to Feminist Economics (2020) The Economics of Gender (third edition, 2007), Labor Markets and Employment Relationships (2004), and co-editor of Queer Economics: A Reader (2007). Prof. Jacobsen is a recipient of the American Economic Association's Carolyn Shaw Bell Award, given annually to an individual who has furthered the status of women in the economics profession, a former president of the International Association for Feminist Economics, and is vice-president of the Eastern Economic Association.
