Jane Stanley

Jane Stanley believes children’s stories should feel like stepping into a world of adventure, warmth, humour, and muddy paws.

A British author and illustrator, Jane creates beautifully illustrated children’s books inspired by the countryside, wildlife, and her real-life cockapoo, Roo. Writing under the imprint Jane Stanley Books, she is the creator of The World of Roo, including the Roo’s Garden, Roo’s First Rhymes, and Roo’s Big Adventures series.

Inspired by classic storytellers such as Beatrix Potter and A. A. Milne, her books combine hand-painted watercolour illustrations with cosy, funny adventures children will want to revisit again and again.

When she isn’t writing or painting, Jane can usually be found exploring woodland trails with Roo or working on her next story.
