S. T. Finn

S. T. Finn has lived a very unconventional life. He grew up surrounded by poverty, moving dozens of times and attending 12 different schools by the time he reached the 10th grade. When he was 17, he hopped freight trains just to get to school every day. But still, he was expelled for not having a proper address.

After spending years hitchhiking around, couch-surfing or living in vans, at retreat centers, ranches, and a Zen monastery, he traveled the country, working as a baker, carpenter, cook, horse wrangler, graphic designer, and many other odd jobs.

Eventually, he found his way to community college, without a high school diploma or GED, finally graduating from Vassar College.

Several of Finn’s illustrations and a dozen haiku have been published in national magazines and literary journals, including LEADING EDGE, FROGPOND, and MODERN HAIKU.

Currently, he lives (and writes) in the Catskill Mountains, surrounded by forests, streams, and lots of feathered friends. Although he has finally settled down, he continues to travel with his writing.
