Dan Ellis
Originally from New Orleans, LA, I was best known as an educator, computer entrepreneur, and for my community and political activities. I had written numerous articles on computers for business periodicals. After moving to the gulf coast of Mississippi, I began researching and writing about the numerous small cities there. Many of these books, I self-published. Having lost my home to Hurricane Katrina, I moved to Eureka Springs, AR where I again took up my quill to elaborate and publish stories about the Ozarks. While there, I also became a promoter of events, including a gala Mardi Gras season complete with parades and majestic costume balls which continue today. I even conducted my very own Jazz Funeral that was attended by hundreds.
After my return to Pass Christian, MS, I resumed writing community heritage books and updating some of the previous ones to include the changes that were brought about by Hurricane Katrina.
As a retired veteran, I enjoy a new life at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, MS and have completed my memoirs for publication.
With the request from friends, I have converted many of my print books to eBooks and most recently have converted selected ones to Audible.
