An avid reader and writer, Lisa is a lifelong lover of language, communication, self-expression, and all things literary.
She has composed poetry for as long as she can remember, as a means of escaping a turbulent childhood into a world of imagination and creativity.
Citing many classic as well as contemporary poets (Mary Oliver in particular) as sources of insight and inspiration, Lisa shares with her muses a deep affinity with the natural world, as well as myriad observations of life seen through the lens of metaphor and abstract images.
Lisa enjoys participating in writing workshops and spoken word events, having been twice featured as a poet at Stark Reality open mic in New York City as well as in Confetti magazine.
Her work appears in Elephant Journal, Women's Spiritual Poetry, Anti-heroin Chic, Rebelle Society, The Medium, and two anthologies: Blue Motel Rooms and World Healing, World Peace. In 2023, she was honored to be asked to recite her poem, Still a Beautiful Sky at a 9/11 memorial ceremony.
Lisa is a mother, grandmother, and professional caregiver within the elderly community.
Having overcome many personal struggles in an unconventional life, Lisa is passionate about personal growth, recovery, authenticity, inclusivity, education and awareness of neurodiversity, and the deep dive into the human psyche and spirit.
In addition to writing, Lisa enjoys cooking, gardening, spending time with her family and pets, and listening to music- especially Joni Mitchell.
She resides in a lakeside cottage in Putnam County, New York with her parakeets and Hemingway cats, where she is working on a memoir, as well as several additional collections of poetry.
Souldust is her first book.
