John M. Stahr is the second son of a Baptist Preacher and a Registered Nurse, a homeschooling father of six, piano player, occasional systems engineer, and part-time storyteller. Born near Boston and raised in the morning shadows of New York City, I was schooled in the various arts of Music Education and Information Technology. My parents were northern biblical Baptists, conservative in nature, liberal in practice. My mom was a nurse, and after raising two boys learned to program and made a small fortune during Y2K. My father was a pastor while I was young, and found his later career in commercial building management. His midlife work in construction later cost him his soul, dying from the dust of asbestos.
Reading was an obsession from an early age, writing later in life. I spent a very brief time as an English Literature major, but found computers more malleable to my temperament. Writing came late in life, as it should, having little experience, or wisdom till the years passed half a hundred. My reading took me from childhood literature, through the classics, science fiction, history, and religion, as has my writing.
