Saladdin Ahmed

Saladdin Ahmed Bahozde is a postnihilist philosopher and a critical theorist of social space. He is the author of The Death of Home (De Gruyter 2024), Critical Theory from the Margins (SUNY 2023, paperback 2024), Revolutionary Hope After Nihilism (Bloomsbury Academic 2022), and Totalitarian Space and the Destruction of Aura (SUNY Press 20219, paperback 2020). He has also published interdisciplinary journal articles, commentaries, and op-eds. His articles have been translated into other languages including Chinese, Korean, French, Spanish, German, and Hungarian, among others.

He is an associate of the Institute for the Humanities, Simon Fraser University, and a member of the University in Exile Consortium. He had published several books and numerous articles in Kurdish, which is his mother tongue, and Arabic before migrating to Canada in end of his twenties. He has a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa (and an MA in Language Studies from Carleton University, a BA in Philosophy from Carleton University, and an MA in European Continental Philosophy from Brock University). He has designed over 25 undergraduate and graduate courses and taught at nine universities in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
