Edwin Ritts

Edwin Ritts’ museum profession spanned 39 years, during which time he directed art museums in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, Asheville, North Carolina, and Dubuque, Iowa. He also directed the Historic Greenville Foundation in South Carolina, culminating in the construction of the Upcountry History Museum in South Carolina and the Thomasville Cultural Center in Georgia.

Edwin’s interest in writing began at Wilmington College in Ohio, where he edited the weekly newspaper and wrote short stories published in the school’s annual literary journal.

Edwin and his wife, Susan, have two grown children and four grandchildren. They currently split their time between Dubuque, Iowa and Isle of Palms, South Carolina with their four dogs and three cats.
