David Shattock is a teacher and philosopher and has a Master's degree in Mathematics Education.
His first book, Presenting Children To Maths: Stronger Character For Better Learning, outlines an educational philosophy to support the learning of mathematics in school. It is a book about children's attitudes, teachers' values and classroom culture, not so much a book about mathematics itself.
His latest book, All Can Be Well: Lessons From Great Thinkers For A Life Worth Living, describes various themes of philosophy, from throughout history and across the world, that can help us to live wiser, calmer and happier lives. The book lets the thinkers speak for themselves as much as possible and synthesises their wisdom into sixteen lessons on human flourishing.
