Mark J Curran

I am a retired teacher from Arizona State University where I worked from 1968 to 2011. I taught Spanish and Portuguese ( Brazilian Variant) Languages, Literature and Civilization. I have published 44 books, 8 in academic circles, 36 in retirement with Trafford Publishing. There is something for everyone. Non - fiction includes autobiographical works like "The Farm" and "Coming of Age with the Jesuits." As well there are many books based on courses taught at ASU, but emphasis on travel, research and teaching forays to Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Portugal and Spain. Several of the latter feature Brazil's folk-popular literature ("a literatura de cordel") and its relation to Brazilian History and Literature. Two feature travel and lecturing on the National Geographic Explorer to Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. But a switch in recent years is making fiction of past travels and life. There are three threads: Letters from Brazil; The Rural Odyssey (books based on Abilene), and Lecturer and adventures on the ficticious "International Adventurer" for "Adventure Travel" to Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Portugal and Spain, and most recently to Rome, Venice, Istanbul, Odessa, and Athens. Have fun.
