Ed Carey

Greetings! My name is Ed Carey. I am in the process of launching my first children’s book with plans to write many more. I desired to write children’s books as I read to my children when they were younger. Now that I am a grandfather, this desire has grown even stronger as I have bonded with my grandchildren as I would read them stories and discuss the characters in our books.

I became inspired when my oldest grandson was given a stuffed toy lion that he named Roar. Over the years, my grandchildren and I would make up stories about Roar being a magical toy lion who would come to life and all the adventures they would have with Roar.

These stories inspired me to write a children’s book called Roar, The Magical Toy Lion Who Finds a Family. The book is about how Roar became my oldest grandson’s friend and some of their adventures. His siblings have now made me promise to write books about them and their toys, detailing their adventures individually and collectively. I have pledged to them that I will do so. While grateful for the encouragement along the way, I hope sharing Roar's tales brings readers as much delight as crafting them has brought me.
